The process for setting up an account: a step-by-step guide.

Essentials for setting up an account:

  1. Email Address
  2. Gmail App (https://mail.google.com/mail)
  3. Scratch Online Website (URL: https://scratch.mit.edu/)

NOTE: Please ensure that you have a username and password ready for the following instructions.

Imagine having a special place to keep all your amazing Scratch projects, just like a treasure chest for your most prized possessions. That's what a Scratch account is all about!

With a Scratch account, you can:

  • Save your projects forever: Just like keeping your toys safe in your toy box, your Scratch projects will be safely stored online, ready for you to work on them whenever you want.
  • Show your projects to others: Share your amazing Scratch creations with your parents, grandparents, and friends. They'll be so impressed by your coding skills!

NOTE

To get your own Scratch account, you'll need some help from your parent or guardian. They'll need to provide an email address, just like having a special address to receive letters.

Once you have your account, you can start creating incredible Scratch projects. It's like having your own magic paintbrush that brings your imagination to life.

Remember:

    • A Scratch account is like having your own personal playground to explore the world of coding and creativity.
    • Only your parent or guardian can help you sign up for a Scratch account.

1. Visit the Scratch website to begin.

2. Select "Join Scratch" from the menu bar at the top (upper right corner as seen in the image below).

3. Choose a username and password.

4. Provide the name of the "country you live in", "birth month and year", "gender"and . These details will be kept private by the Scratch website.

5. Enter and confirm your email address. Scratch will now send you an email to confirm your email address.

6. Log into your email account. Open the email from Scratch
